This two-day package offers the perfect blend of adrenaline rush and tranquility, making it a popular weekend getaway from Kathmandu. The key rapids on the Trishuli River include: Ladies Delight (Class III), a fun, narrow rapid early in the trip with fast-moving water, often serving as the first “test” for rafters to practice paddling coordination. Upset (Class III+) is one of the most challenging and thrilling rapids on the river, featuring powerful waves, sharp turns, and the chance of flipping if not navigated properly. Surprise (Class III), as the name suggests, comes unexpectedly and can jolt the raft with strong, turbulent flow, requiring quick paddling commands and team coordination. Monsoon (Class II-III), particularly noticeable during the high-water monsoon season (June-August), becomes more forceful and exciting. S-bend/S-curve (Class II-III), consists of a series of bends that require technical paddling and alertness. Pinball (Class III) is a rock-strewn section where rafts can bounce between obstacles, reminiscent of a pinball game, making it one of the most entertaining stretches for both rafters and guides. Between rapids, the Trishuli River rafting features long, calm sections that allow for relaxation and enjoyment of the surrounding green hills and terraced farms. Swimming or floating beside the raft is guided. Bird-watching is popular, with species like kingfishers, cormorants, and herons commonly seen. Taking photographs of cliffs, waterfalls, and remote villages is also encouraged. Scenic drive from Kathmandu to riverside resortOvernight stay with campfire, BBQ, and nature activitiesGuided rafting with safety equipment and trained professionalsMix of thrilling rapids and calm scenic stretchesSuitable for both beginners and experienced adventurersBest Season for Trishuli River Rafting TourThe Trishuli River Rafting Tour is available almost year-round, but the experience varies significantly depending on the season.
